Melanated Movie Night Film Festival

We are excited to invite you to join us as we launch the inaugural Melanated Movie Night Film Festival, an initiative created to celebrate and amplify black voices and black stories in film. Our festival is meant to center the talent, experiences, and perspective of black filmmakers.

The Melanated Movie Night Film Festival’s mission is to provide a safe space for black cinematic creatives to shine and the opportunity to showcase their film to an audience of their peers. We believe that cinema has the power to inspire, transform, and awaken thoughts and ideas. For generations, films have kindled passions that have led us to believe the impossible and witness the world through a new lens. As eager students of cinema, movies been either our mirror’s reflection or our pathway to possibilities that defy the imagination.

Now, it our turn to celebrate films of a new generation that ignite that same creativity in others. Through the perspective of Black filmmakers, we plan to showcase stories that inspire and move you—just as we’ve been inspired and moved by cinema through the years.

Join us as we celebrate black storytellers and black films, honoring the experience that shapes the culture and the creators who tell the story.
