Discover the remarkable story of Pearl Bradshaw and her husband, Jim, who managed the Hotham Heights Chalet at Mt Hotham for nine winters from 1937 to 1945. Their story spans the 1939 bushfires, which destroyed the Chalet and burnt almost two million hectares across Victoria, as well as the challenges of the Second World War.
Drawing on interviews with Pearl and historic photographs, Stephen Whiteside brings to life over 40 anecdotes that reveal her extraordinary experiences in the Victorian ski fields.
