Sissy is the Author of a new Children's book series, Beautiful Scars, Beautiful Me. Her desire is to inspire children who face the challenges of life with bravery and confidence and learn to love themselves despite how the world and others may see them.
Her hope is that her books would also inspire children to choose kindness and compassion, and to reject the idea of bullying others that might not look like them.
Reading these books provide an avenue of conversation to discuss the dynamics of living in a world with such a diversity of people and the uniqueness that each of us bring.
