Welcome to the #Food4Thought💭 family of nature walkers and book lovers.
We are excited to be hosting our 2nd in the series of “Meet The Author” sessions where we reflect on a given theme and do a shared reading of our invited guest author’s book, together with them.
For *March 2026*, we are delighted to welcome *Col Tej Tikoo*, the author of *Warrior Extraordinary Maj Bob Khating, MC* . We will be reflecting on the theme: *Less known National Heroes of India*
As the weather gets warm, for a later morning walk, here is some information you will find useful ahead of the walk:
*Date: 15 March 2026*
*Time: 8:00 am to 10:30 am* (we like to promptly start on time; we leave a live location for you to follow if you are running late)
*Venue & Address:*
Lodhi Garden, Ashoka Gate, Next to India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road, Delhi
The book we are reading from is *Warrior Extraordinary Maj Bob Khating, MC* by *Col Tej Tikoo*.
You do not need to have already read it but you are welcome to if you’d like to!
*About the Author*
Col Tej Kumar Tikoo, Ph.D. (Retd), was commissioned into First Battalion of the Naga Regiment on 22 August 1971. Soon thereafter, he found himself fighting the 1971 Indo-Pak war in the eastern sector. Col Tikoo spent major portion of his service in the Army, on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir/Line of Actual Control in the Northeast or fighting insurgency operations in various parts of the country. He is an M.Sc. from Madras University and was awarded a Ph.D. in Defence Studies in 2012.
His book KASHMIR: Its Aborigines and their Exodus, was published in 2012. Col Tikoo, after retirement, has been associated with various socio-cultural orgnaisations. He appears regularly in various regional, Indian, and global TV channels on issues dealing with security, terrorism, international affairs, etc.
*Format of the session:*
*8:00 am* Meet & Greet; Short Intros (at Meeting Point - Yoga Sthal)
*8:15 am* Walk & Talk (Theme: _Less known National Heroes of India_)
*9:15 am* Walking groups are requested to return to the Meeting point and reassemble at the Yoga Sthal after finishing your walk. We will walk to our reading spot; it is a short 5 mins walk from the meeting point.
*Reading session:*
- Intro & welcome to our guest author: *Col Tej Tikoo*
- ⁠Shared reading of excerpts from the book
- ⁠Reflections and sharing.
- ⁠The last word by our guest author
We hope to conclude by 10:30 am.
