Ted Wallen is a multi media artist who has been working along the Jersey Shore since the early 1990s. His interest in art, and his penchant for drawing, were obvious at an early age. In 1987, at the age of 14, Ted bought his first airbrush and soon realized that he could make a living while doing something he was passionate about… making art.
Ted began tattooing in 1995, and since then, he has worked at tattoo shops across the U.S. alongside some amazing artists. The wide spectrum of images, and subject matter requested by tattoo clients has given Ted an opportunity to explore many different styles, and to be introduced to many different subjects.
Ted likes to work in big bold imagery, with exaggerated light sources and strong use of contrast. His works show a strong influence of many styles… from comic books, early 80s graffiti, and airbrushed t-shirts… to fine art, low brow art, and tattoos.
In 2019, Ted began to concentrate on painting with the intent of sharing his vision with a larger audience. Since then he has appeared in numerous group shows, and is currently working on building his body of work.
