Richard Loewen is an artist and musician from Bismarck, North Dakota. As a painter, Richard’s work typically lands in the realm of conceptual and abstract art. Often times blending gestural play with hard line and bold color in contrast, the results are (hopefully) as free and playful and they can be meticulous. Black and white checker patterns are a common reoccurring theme that bring a 3 dimensional effect to an otherwise-somewhat “floating” plane of varying shapes and suggestions of characters and landscapes.
