Judie Ohm is the author of the wonderful book, "Turret Tales":"The book begins with his young life growing up in Mondovi, WI. Doug Ward enlisted in the Army Corps in 1942. He is credited with 37 missions in the European Theatre. A member of the 15th Air Force, 301st Bomb Group in Italy and the 8th Air Force, 305th Bomb Group in England. He was a Ball Turret Gunner on a B-17. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 18, 1945 at Camp McCoy, WI. He was a mail carrier in Mondovi, WI for 32 years."
