Local Author Joy Bashara will be the very special guest of the Caramel Crisp Book Club on Thursday, September 4th (5:30 to 6:30 pm) for a lively discussion of her fascinating travel memoir, “Blanketed in Truth”. Joy will share stories of her experiences as an English teacher for the U.S. Department of State in Siberia.
Through her book, Joy will introduce you to a variety of people who remain an enigma to many outside their borders. As Joy reveals the tip of the iceberg to her thirty-year love affair with a place besieged by propaganda, you will find yourself unraveling the mystery of a foreign tongue, sampling peculiar foods, and coming to understand heartfelt customs passed down through generations.
