Meet & Greet with Cullen Jones

Meet a World Champion Swimmer, Wavemaker for Water Safety, and Goldfish Dad!

Besides being a FINtastic human, Cullen is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to his efforts to shatter stereotypes and help promote diversity and inclusion in swimming.

After a near-drowning experience as a child, Cullen was immediately put in swim lessons, where it quickly became apparent that he had a natural talent as a swimmer.

In his Olympic swimming career, Cullen won 4 medals - earning a Gold Medal in 2008 in the 4x100 Freestyle Relay - also known as the Greatest Relay in Olympic History - then 2 Silver Medals (4x100m freestyle relay and 50m freestyle) and a Gold Medal in 4x100 medley relay at the 2012 games.

He became the first African American man to win a Gold Medal at the World University Games in 2005, and the first Black swimmer to hold a World Record.

No bathing suit required!- Meet & Greet in the Goldfish lobby - don't forget your camera! Come give him a fist-bump, shake his hand, and learn something about perseverance in the sport of swimming!

Want to swim while you are here? FINtastic! Pack your swim bag and load the car! We will have an open swim opportunity for anyone who wants to "jump in" as a family and enjoy the 90º Goldfish pool before or after meeting Cullen!

Goldfish Facility Amenities and Policies:

Goldfish Facility provides warm water showers, private family changing huts, hair dryers, swimsuit spin dryers, and more! So, grab your swimsuit and towel, and join us for a Splashin’ time. We can’t wait to see you!

Goldfish Policies: Non-toilet-trained swimmers must wear a machine-washable reusable swim diaper. All children who can not swim independently will be required to wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket if they are not swimming within arms’ reach of their guardians. Certified lifeguards will be on duty at all times.

Info: Queue forms in lobby. Cullen will meet and briefly chat with each family, allow for a photo opportunity, and move to the next family in the queue. Reserve your family swim passes through tickets to participate in the open swim.
