Meet and Mingle: How tech is transforming industries

This month, our Meet and Mingle event will focus on how tech is transforming industries.

Join us for a panel discussion bringing together founders and innovators who are using technology to challenge the status quo, solve real-world problems and transform the industries they work in.

Hear first-hand how our speakers are turning ideas into action, the opportunities and challenges they've encountered along the way, and their perspectives on what the future holds for tech-driven innovation.

Our panel will include:
Ammar Akhtar - Ammar Akhtar is the founder of Final Rentals, the world’s fastest-growing car rental tech company from Wales. A TedX speaker, Fintech Leader of the Year 2026, the first business in Wales to secure a NatWest IP-backed loan, and the only Welsh company listed in the Sifted 250; Europe’s 250 fastest-growing startups for 2026.

Final Rentals operates in over 65 countries, but is a proud Welsh founded company, and Ammar has a passion for showcasing Wales as a leader in the tech industry. Final Rentals is aiming to grow to a £100million valuation
Katie Fernquest - Founder Katie Fernquest spent years supporting startups as they scaled, across a wide range of sectors and kept seeing the same problem play out. Founders navigating blind, stuck in decision paralysis, burning through runway on wrong hires and unmatched outsourced services.

WeLaunch was built to end that: a bias-free talent catalogue matching founders to specialist talent on merit alone, connected to the right support at the right time through our ecosystem of verticals while generating qualified leads for the service providers and SMEs on the platform.

WeLaunch is building the infrastructure founders deserve.

Welcome drinks will be proided by BonHomie Drinks, founded by Cardiff Met graduate Wayne Kadzirange
