Meet and Greet the Artist: Carolyn Guest

Please join us for an afternoon of art and community on Saturday, June 20th from 1-3PM as we celebrate the work of Carolyn Guest, the Littleton Co-op's May/June featured Cafe Gallery Artist. The artist will be on site to share more information about her work anddemonstrate her Polish paper cutting techniques. Light refreshments will be provided and the artwork will be for sale. Come for the whole afternoon or stop by for as long as you can!

Paper cutter Carolyn (Gorham) Guest grew up on a farm in Lyndon Vermont not far from her father’s fifth generation home farm. She was an active 4-H member, and as a young adult spent six months living and working in Poland as an International 4-H Youth Exchange student. Folk art and crafts were always an intricate part of her life. While there, she was introduced to the Polish Folk Art of Wycinanki (vee-chee-non-kee) or paper cutting. This has taken her back to Poland and many other places to further study with paper cutters and other Folk Artists. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont, a teacher, Juried member of Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild and 802 Art House. She has severed on the national boards for The Guild of American Papercutters and International 4-H Youth Exchange (IFYE international) and the Caledonia County 4-H Foundation.
