This gentle, meditative experience invites you to explore mindfulness through the simple ritual
of tea. Together, we’ll enjoy several rounds of tea sourced from China or Taiwan while practicing being fully present with each sip.
A soothing journey of stillness and connection in quiet presence, seated comfortably on floor
cushions. Chairs are available if necessary. You’ll be prompted to notice details through your senses - the aroma, warmth, texture of the tea, and even the rhythm of your breath. This mindfulness experience can help you shift into a calm focus and helps you bring the same qualities of patience, presence, and gratitude into daily life. With each pour and each sip, we are invited to slow down and soften into the moment, allowing the ritual itself to become meditation in motion.
More about Steven
Steven's love for tea began a decade ago when he would frequent the local tea houses in his former residence of Asheville. He attended his first ceremonial tea experience in 2017, and it became a staple practice for him ever since. Steven moved to St Pete in 2022, and began attending as many tea ceremony experiences as possible at Pillar of Light. Ashley Stime, owner of Pillar of Light, became his tea mentor when Steven signed up for her tea immersion program. Steven also learned about tea on the job while working at Noisy Crane Tea House. Steven believes experiencing tea as a meditative experience allows us to come home to ourselves, and works as a bridge towards connecting with others. He is a lifelong student of tea, and is honored to share this practice with his community.
