Join us for the opening of "Meditations," a solo exhibition featuring artist Allan Barnes. Allan Barnes is a photographer and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He offers workshops on historic photographic processes and specializes in portraiture using 19th-century cameras and techniques. Most recently, Allan has been exploring landscape photography using a mobile darkroom built into his 1985 Toyota Dolphin RV.
Allan Barnes states, "I have become unstuck in time. Working with wet plate collodion makes me feel like an alchemist. It requires lots of physical activity, as well as extensive preparation and cleaning.”
The opening reception of “Meditations” is Saturday, January 11th, 2025, from 4-6PM. Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments in our new gallery space, CURA Contemporary. FREE and open to the public. On view January 4th – February 23rd, 2025.
