These two 3 hour workshops will be an exploration of the ‘what’ ‘why’ and ‘how’ behind meditation. We’ll take an experiential journey into the heart of meditation, and give you the practical tools to take this into your personal practice and share it with your students. This training is designed for yoga and meditation teachers as well as wellness facilitators who want to learn how to integrate meditation into their classes or therapies. If you already have a meditation practice, the intention with this training is not to conflict with but to complement and enrich any practices that you currently have. Topics to be covered:
- What is meditation?
- The neuroscience of meditation and changes that occur in our brain and nervous system
- Key steps for practicing and facilitating meditation
- Meditation posture - how to find a comfortable seat
- Ways of meeting challenging thoughts, feelings and emotions
- Simple breath techniques that support a deep meditative enquiry
