We begin with a guided meditation led by Burnice, inviting you to slow down and connect with your inner world through sound and reflection.

During the last moments of the meditation, you’ll capture your impressions on paper, through words, lines, or shapes that will later inspire your artwork.

Next, under NÉNÉ guidance, we move into a creative workshop focused on intuitive and expressive painting. You’ll learn how to translate your feelings and sketches into visual form, experimenting freely with colors, textures, and techniques.

This 2.5-hour journey offers space for self-discovery, play, and artistic expression no prior experience needed, just an open heart and mind and a willingness to explore.

Expo: 'Alienation'

NÉNÉ is a multidisciplinary artist based in Rotterdam. Her paintings, installations, and spatial explorations are inspired by her interest in Afrofuturism. This philosophy and art movement allows her to develop perspectives beyond colonial frameworks, paving the way for a personal and imaginative interpretation of identity—free from imposed norms.

The painting series Alienation is a visual and personal reflection of an inner journey, exploring her bicultural background. In this body of work, she delves into the feeling of living between two worlds, never fully belonging, and at times feeling like an ‘alien’ in her own surroundings.

The exhibition will close on February 14 at Hotel The Usual with a special event centered around Love. During the evening, we invite you to join a sound meditation. We will then translate this experience of the mediation onto canvas, a moment to make your inner world visible.

In addition to the meditation, there will be the opportunity to view the artworks and acquire prints of the pieces. An evening of reflection, creation, and connection.
