Medicine Buddha Jenang with His Eminence Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek

His Eminence Khensur Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Delek will confer a jenang (a permission initiation) of Medicine Buddha (Skt. Bhaiṣajyaguru; Tib. Sangye Menla), establishing the karmic connection with this buddha of healing and conferring authorization to engage in the formal meditation practice.
Participants are encouraged to arrive with a stable motivation of bodhichitta — the wish to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Medicine Buddha is the embodiment of the healing activity of all the buddhas. His practice is widely relied upon to purify negative karma, remove obstacles to health and long life, and create conditions favorable to liberation.
During the initiation students will receive the refuge and bodhisattva vows, taking these vows is necessary to participate in the jenang. Although there will be no required sadhana practice, students who take the initiation should recite Medicine Buddha’s mantra a few times every day.
Rinpoche has granted permission for students participating via Zoom to receive the initiation in full. Rinpoche has advised the online students to avoid all distractions and to pay close attention to receive the initiation.
