Medicinal Plant ID Foraging Hike: Blackberry, Blueberry, Huckleberry Hoard

Join Collin Gow, C.N.C. on this informative edible and medicinal plant hike in the wild in Lutz, FL on Sat. May 23, 2026. 11 AM to 1:00 PM EDT. Address will be emailed to registered participants. Adults, kids, chefs, naturalists, outdoor enthusiasts...all are welcome! Children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult. Ages 5 and under are free. Ticket required for age 6 and up.

Collin is a certified nutritional consultant, author, and forager. He holds certifications in nutrition, herbalism, advanced plant identification, wilderness first aid, natural product science, and health applications. On this hike he will teach you how to identify many natural treasures, from berries, to lichens, to burnweed, to blackroot, and more, while also discussing their biological actions, nutritional benefits, culinary uses, Native American uses, and ethnomedicinal uses. You will have a whole new botanical and wellness vocabulary by the end of it and you'll discover a beautiful hiking trail with a hoard of edibles!

We will walk a distance of about 1 mile or less. It is best to arrive 15 minutes early and come prepared, as the class will take place rain or shine. Anywhere from 5 to 35 people generally attend the walks, and Collin usually covers around 15-20 species.
