On Saturday, April 25, 2025, the Drug Enforcement Administration will host National Medication Take Back Day at locations across the country. In Kittitas County, the Ellensburg Healthy Youth Coalition, Kittitas County Health Network and the Kittitas County Sheriff’s office in partnership with the DEA will host the event from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be on-site collection of capsules, tablets, patches, and other solid forms of prescription drugs increasing protective factors in our community. Free onsite document shredding will be available from 9am to 1pm provided by our gracious partners at Central Washington University, Pearl Care Dental, and Mariposa Medical Aesthetics. Free sharps disposal, medication lock boxes, naloxone, nicotine replacement therapy, and other resources will be available, courtesy of Kittitas County Public Health Department and the Kittitas County Health Network.
