Media Literacy, How to Know if it's True

Our presenter, Laura Abramson, holds a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Wayne State University. Her professional background includes branding, web development, and extensive experience in the telecommunications industry. She currently serves as a librarian at the Muskegon District Library, where she combines her passion for access to information with a strong interest in media literacy. Laura will be presenting this program independently.
In this presentation, participants will learn practical strategies for navigating today’s complex information landscape. Topics include evaluating the credibility of sources, identifying misinformation and disinformation, understanding bias, verifying claims, and developing critical thinking skills to assess the information you encounter online, in the media, and in everyday life.
