Meat Preservation Workshop
About this Event
Meat Canning Class– Friday, September 25th, 1:00 PM–4:00 PM at the Carteret County Center!
Have you ever wanted to preserve your own meat? Join us for an interactive workshop designed for those interested in learning how to pressure can meats (beef, pork, poultry, venison, fish, and seafood). We will also discuss dehydrating and freezing meat. Along with hands-on food preservation techniques, we will discuss food safety practices and tested recipes to ensure the best and safe products.
Prior canning experience is recommended but all are welcome.
Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks if you’d like to eat during the class, meat preservation can take a long time so the class may run longer but you will be able to leave any time you need to! If you have any questions or need accommodations, please contact Stephanie Stevenson at [email protected] or 252-222-6374.
