Measuring the World
About this Event
Summer at last! At the Goethe-Institut, that means unpacking the big screen, hanging it outside in the backyard, and enjoying entertaining German films together on mild summer evenings. Every Wednesday at 8:00 PM in August.
Measuring the World
A film adaptation of Daniel Kehlmann’s novel: In the early 19th century, Alexander von Humboldt and Carl Friedrich Gauss set out to explore the world. But although they share the same goal, their methods could hardly be more different: While Humboldt, the naturalist, travels to distant lands and continents to survey the world, Gauss, the mathematician, stays at home to calculate it.
