Meadow Mow & Rake at Cuxham

Dear Nature Volunteers,We first mowed the meadow in Cuxham back in the summer of 2017. Today we'll return to mow and rake the meadow for the ninth consecutive time. The work gets progressively easier each time we go back, though that's not to say that you can expect an easy day's work!
We'll aim to mow a relatively large area of the grass meadow, and to cut back any scrub that's beginning to encroach from the thick hedge-line at the bottom of the site. Everything we cut will need to be shifted, so we'll be using tarpaulins to raft the cut swaths off the meadow.
We'll be using the OCV set of Austrian scythes (if you can bring your own, then you'll be more than welcome) and will be working for the local parish council who own and manage the site as a wild flower meadow.

We're short of task leaders at the moment and we can't carry on without them.
Some of our tasks are much easier to lead than others, so if you're a regular volunteer please consider stepping up to do a bit of leading. Any of the task leaders will be happy to let you shadow them until you're confident you know the ropes. If you are interested, please get in touch - we need more leaders.
