The Civil War a.k.a. the War Between the States, and a few other monikers, severely impacted Maryland. Antietam, (The Battle of Sharpsburg to the Confederates) Monocacy, South Mountain, and others saw bloodshed and sadness. Do you have an ancestor who fought in this war? Interested in knowing more or honoring their memory? We will have representatives of various heritage societies on hand to discuss how to research.
We also have in our collection notebooks with the DORSEY family members that served on both sides. We also have a few related books for sale, notably by local author and friend Daniel Carroll Toomey.
