McKinney Shamrock Run 5k

🍀The 8th Annual McKinney Shamrock Run 5K kicks off at Towne Lake Park at 9:00 am! Put on your GREEN and race to the finish line where you’ll receive your lucky finishers medal and a complimentary Green Beer!

🍀Early bird registration for the Shamrock Run 5k is $30 and includes entry into the chip timed racecourse, Shamrock Run 5K t-shirt, custom Shamrock Run bib, and an awesome finishers medal! A portion of event proceeds supports The Warrior’s Keep! Pricing will increase to $35 on February 3rd!

🍀The family friendly festivities include local vendors, delicious food, GREEN TUPPS BEER, a Shamrock Photo booth, Irish music, and Irish dancing! The event is so fun, and family friendly!

🍀 CASH prizes will be awarded to the Top Overall Males and Females during our awards ceremony presented by Prestige Community Credit Union! First Place ($100), Second Place ($50) and Third Place ($25) AND the First Place Stroller Strider ($25). PLUS awards for the top male and female finisher in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over! The Awards Ceremony will take place at 9:45am!

The McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Beer Walk is from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm in Historic Downtown McKinney! Enjoy sipping and strolling through the streets of downtown McKinney tasting 20 unique craft beers! Learn more .

When is packet pickup?

Packet pickup is Tuesday, March 11th, 4:00pm-6:30pm AND Wednesday, March12th, 4:00pm-6:30pm at SBG Hospitality in McKinney! 7200 W University Dr, McKinney, TX 75071

Can I pick up someone else’s packet?

Yes, you can pickup packets for others. Please note that packet pickup is separated into 4 lines. A-F, G-M, N-S, T-Z If the people you are picking up for has a last name in a different line you may have to get into that line after picking up your bib. To pickup packets you need the email confirmation. (No need to print- just show us the barcode in the email.)

How early can I arrive on race day?

You can arrive as early as 7:45am. The 5K begins at 9am!

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed participate in the 2025 Shamrock Run 5K.

Do children need to register?

Anyone walking/running the Shamrock Run 5k who is not being pushed in a stroller should pay the registration fee to participate.

Where do I park?

Please park across the street at McKinney High School. Email communication is sent out race week with further instructions.

Can I volunteer?

Yes! The event needs volunteers at packet pickup! Please email us at [email protected] for volunteer opportunities. We provide volunteers with free tickets to the Shamrock Run 5K for their time volunteering! (or a future event if you prefer)
