Embracing vulnerability has always been a formidable challenge for me, as the craving for control lingers in every aspect of my life. Creating my art allows me to succumb to vulnerability while taking back control. With clay as my medium, I mold my emotions and stories into tangible forms. Like clay, I am complex - delicate yet resilient - shaping the facade I present to the world. It's a complicated relationship between what you see and what lies beneath. Let my art speak louder than my vulnerabilities.

McKenna Davis is a ceramic artist who graduated from Buffalo State University in 2024 with a BFA in Ceramics. During her time at Buffalo State, her dedication and talent earned her numerous awards, scholarships, and grants. She also held the position as President for the Coalition for Ceramic Designers.
Guided by the belief that “to share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength,” McKenna’s work explores the profound connection between vulnerability and control. Through her complex relationship with clay, she transforms emotions and personal stories into tangible forms, balancing fragility with resilience. Her creations invite viewers to look beyond the surface, uncovering the depth of what lies beneath.
