Readers are welcome to join at any point throughout the year. The McBride Chapter of Silent Book Club is on the first Saturday of every month, January-November, excluding holiday closures.

Silent Book Club® was started and launched by two friends—Guinevere de la Mare and Laura Gluhanich— as an organization with the mission to "unite a global community of book lovers through the shared joy of reading together." Mare and Gluhanich wanted to create a fun and welcoming environment for all readers—where everyone could enjoy reading, socializing, and refreshments, without the worry of pressure from traditional book clubs.
