This show is part of the 4 town (Carteret, Metuchen, New Brunswick & Woodbridge) Middlesex County Jazz Festival. Woodbridge will kick off the Festival on Wednesday Sept 24 in Parker Press Park with the award winning Woodbridge H.S. Jazz Choir at 7:00 pm, followed by the Brooklyn and NJ based all female high energy "Brass Queens" who are inspired by the music of New Orleans which they fuse with modern pop. They hit the stage about 7:30 pm.Closing the show is the lead vocalist of The Hot Sardines, Elizabeth Bougerol, who will bring her own band to close the show with a set that begins around 8:30 pm.
Elizabeth draws from jazz icons like Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee and Bessie Smith and infuses both deep respect for tradition and her own distinct voice and arrangements.
Her blend of vintage sounds wityh modern sensibility sets her apart as one of the most innovative voices in jazz
