A gathering to celebrate Ben Rawlence’s new book and explore themes of parenting, climate change and intergenerational responsibility
About this Event

What do we tell our children about the world they are inheriting?

The MovingBeyond team first met author and climate thinker Ben Rawlence in 2022 at our gathering in Cardigan, Wales. We are delighted to host this special London event exploring the themes of his powerful new book

Through a series of moving, honest and often surprising letters written to his daughters over more than a decade, Ben reflects on what it means to parent in a time of ecological crisis. What knowledge should we pass on? What future are we preparing our children for? And how do we speak honestly across generations about the world that is unfolding?

By turns dark, hopeful, funny and deeply human, Think Like a Forest invites us to rethink not only how we raise our children, but how we live.

The evening will include:
• A short reading and reflections from Ben Rawlence
• Audience Q&A
• Informal food, drinks, conversation and connection

Copies of the book may be available to purchase on the night.

Food & Drink

Guests are encouraged to support REinsTate’s community bar alongside purchasing tasty South Asian street food from Manzoor Ahmed who will be set up outside.

About the venue

We’re delighted to be hosting this event at REinsTate.

The REinsTate Project, led by ReSpace in Silvertown, Newham, is transforming the long-disused Tate Institute (est. 1887) into a vibrant community and cultural hub. Rooted in sustainability and heritage, REinsTate brings local residents, artists and organisations together to reuse, recycle and reimagine neglected spaces as places of creativity, collaboration and renewal.
