2:00pm-3:00pm Crafting Corner: Interactive Arts and Crafts Activities including magnetic poetry, bookmark making, collage crafting, trivia, and more (Ages 5 and Up)

3:10pm-4:10pm "Still I Rise" Writing Workshop with Alex Tha Great (Ages 13 and up to participate)

4:20pm-4:50pm "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" Essay Contest Presentation

5:30pm-7:30pm Poetry Slam hosted by Alex Tha Great (Ages 18 and Up to Participate. All Ages can Attend)

Info: Synopsis: Embark on a transformative journey with our grounding Hatha yoga flow, a sanctuary where body, mind, and spirit unite in harmony. Dive deep into a sequence designed to anchor you to the present moment, fostering a sense of peace and inner strength. Conclude your practice with a serene sound meditation, where soothing vibrations wash over you, leaving you refreshed and rejuvenated. Finally, come together for tea fellowship, savoring each moment of connection and community in a space of warmth and acceptance.

Bio: Dawn is a yoga teacher that weaves melodies of sound healing, meditation, and movement, drawing seekers into realms unseen within themselves. For five cycles of the sun, she's been a guide, embracing all who step onto the sacred mat, meeting them in the whispers of their souls. With grace as her compass, she leads, urging each spirit to blossom, to unfurl, to dance in the light of their boundless potential.

Info: The Haiku Battle is a much coveted and well attended event. Are you a haikuist? It is a simple art form taken from Japanese culture that focuses on the art of brevity. The form takes the shape of 17 syllables total, 3 lines, 5-7-5. Here is your chance to battle it out and see if you will be crowned our Inaugural Haiku Battle Champion. Well you have a chance to test those skills here. This event takes 8 competitors for a $150 prize.

Info: Location: Texas Theatre, 231 W Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, TX 75208
Round 1- All 15 Poets will perform a 3 minute poem. 5 poets will be dropped. Round 2- 10 Poets will perform a 2 minute poem. The order will be done from High to Low. Round 1 and Round 2 will be added together for a cumulative score to advance to the last round. 5 poets will be dropped. Round 3- In the last round, 5 Poets will perform a 3 minute poem. There will be a new bout draw for the order before the round begins. The top 3 poets will be awarded as follows: 1st Place- $1,500 2nd Place- $750 3rd Place- $500

Love Forward: Service Project

Info: This year, Right 2 Write will be giving back to the community and we would love your help with this. We are going to be packing blessing bags with hygiene products and snacks for the unhoused. In addition, we will be writing/delivering hand written short poems to pay it forward in love to the people. Meet us in the morning and pack a bag, write a poem, or join the team to make deliveries.
