Our story continues.
After years of gathering in and around Santa Rosa Beach, Emerald Coast Storytellers has begun expanding west. Our Fort Walton Beach series is officially underway, and we’re excited to continue building a new chapter—bringing new voices, new stories, and a new community around the mic.
Join us at The Craft Bar- Destin — A gathering space in the heart of Destin — where craft cocktails meet coastal energy, and live storytelling turns strangers into something more familiar. An evening where everyday moments feel a little more meaningful, and stories are shared together, in real time.

May Story Theme: Unsung Heroes
Not all heroes make headlines. Some move quietly through the world — showing up, holding things together, changing lives in ways that don’t always get recognized.
This month, we’re telling stories about the ones who don’t always get the spotlight but leave a lasting mark all the same.
The teacher who saw something in you.
The friend who stayed.
The stranger who showed up at the exact right moment.
The version of yourself that kept going when no one was watching.
In the spirit of Art Month and in partnership with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, Unsung Heroes is about honoring those people — and giving their stories the space they deserve.

Writers, poets, musicians, performers, and first-timers are all welcome. Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, true stories, or something in between — if it matters to you, it belongs here.
Featured Storyteller: Ann Lewis
Ann has processed the world through words since she can remember. Never one for the straight and narrow, her experiences have included traveling with little more than a knapsack, living and working abroad and having myriad jobs, yet writing has remained her anchor. She has been published in the Dr. T. J. Eckleburg Review and the Emerald Coast Review. Her poetic memoir Inside Out: Meet Mama Schizophrenia was released last Spring and is available at Sundog Books and Amazon.
