The April Slam was not a full sheet of poets, but it was a room full of love and shooting stars. Love providing a room for showcasing spoken word. But the idea of providing a place for those artist to form a community, connecting with other poets and making friends is paramount. We did that and more in April. Know the room will always be a welcome and safe space.We will have a Slam and that involves some amazing spoken word artists. So, poets bring 3 original poems. Sign up sheet goes out at 6:30p and we start reading at 7p. All poets read in the first round with 5 judges (high/low scores are dropped). After eliminations we will have a second round (after our feature). And if time allows we may have a third round for place. Never underestimate yourself on making it to the third round.
Our prizes consist of used books so we come together for a supportive community not prizes.
All ages are welcome. 515 Brewing has beverages for all ages with snacks, but food may be brought.
