May Day has always been about more than just a date on the calendar — it's about the dignity of work and the power of every day folks standing 10 toes down, going all out for each other and their community.
For my family, this is how we've always done it. We know that our strongest days are the ones where we're leaning on each other, sharing what we have, and making sure nobody gets left behind. That's what solidarity looks like.

About the Cookout
The grill will be hot, the music will be loud, and the back yard will be full of neighbors, friends, and families for the first annual May Day Solidarity Cookout!

This is a family reunion-style event — whether you're family by blood, by block, or by faith, you are welcome at this table.

A little about May Day
May Day has long been a day when ordinary people gather to celebrate the dignity of work and the power of solidarity. For us, it's also a reminder that the strongest communities are the ones where people know each other, care for each other, and stand together when it matters.
This cookout is a small but joyful way to practice that.

Parking & what to bring
🚗 Street parking available – please be mindful of neighbors' driveways and carpool if you can.
🪑 Bring a lawn chair or blanket, your appetite, and your Sunday smile. And don't forget a dish to share for the potluck!
