May 18th, Decoupage Oyster Shells workshop, With Artist Kim Brown
Schedule
Sat May 18 2024 at 11:00 am
UTC-04:00Location
17689 Coastal Hwy, Lewes, DE, United States, Delaware 19958 | Lewes, DE
In this workshop, you will decoupage two oyster shells, edge them with gold leaf paint, and add a loop of wooden beads to each one. The finished products can be used as ornaments, wine bottle charms, napkin rings, tabletop decorations, or any other way your inspiration suggests! Keep one and gift one (they make great hostess gifts) if you wish!
All supplies and materials will be provided. All you need to bring is your interest and a relatively steady hand…no artistic talent is required.
Kim Brown is a Lewes-based artist who is best known for her work creating Sailor’s Valentines, which are intricate mosaics made from tiny seashells. She also engages in other forms of shell and sea glass art and loves to paint, as well.
*Please note that you will not necessarily be making the design shown here on the sample shells. A variety of paper napkins will be available for you to choose from (or you are welcome to bring your own if there is a design you really like).
