Our next Snake Oil Series is 9 weeks using your best 7 weeks to determine Division winners. All rounds are on Sundays, flex start Noon to 2pm.
Max’s Snake Oil Series has been a staple of Murrieta Rattlers disc golf club since 2015. Players compete in a PDGA sanctioned league series that is between 6 and 10 weeks where, every week, they earn points for every player that they beat or tie in their division, plus podium points for the top 3 players. At the end of the series, the top 3 players divide a cash award of 50/30/20 percent according to how many players played in their division the entire series. Each week, players win Rattler Bucks as payouts to be used in the club store. Open players receive cash payouts. Payouts are always the following week, as this is a flex start event. We realize that for some of our highest rated players, their ratings can sometimes take a negative hit. You can always play along with your friends, on the same card, and not be rated, as long as you have not paid in the PDGA sanctioned event. Every series allows you to drop your worst round (or rounds) as we count your 5 best rounds of a 6 week series. Also best 6 of 7, best 6 of 8, best 7 of 9 or best 8 of 10 week series. Winners of each division are awarded the coveted Snake Oil Series bottle awards! These contain a mixture of items, including a small snake, shark teeth, ants, flies, glowing maggots, chicken bones, actual barbed wire from the fence near hole 15, a piece of the tire on 11A and genuine 23 karat gold flakes that swirl around in oil like a snow globe! Keep an eye out for notices when the next series will begin. Since our first 9 week series in 2015 to our last series in September 2023, we have served 1,752 players and awarded SOS bottles to every winner of every division! The Duncans, Maxine and Glenn, realized early on, that adults need to play too! Our involvement with the Murrieta Rattlers Disc Golf Club is our commitment to a passion to provide a venue, Mountain Pride, and events for our player base, (Monthlies, Leagues, Challenges, Ice Bowls, C-tier Tournaments, Ace Runs etc.) that builds community and provides a recreation outlet for the general public as well. We are fortunate to have grown a volunteer community from this base that continually answers the call when course work or clean up is needed. This is YOUR course and you’ve shown by your actions that you intend to keep it that way.
