For over 43 years, Deputy Chief Brian Kunce was the one running toward the danger. Serving the communities of Winnebago and Boone County he has answered thousands of calls, protected countless lives, and mentored generations of firefighters who proudly follow in his footsteps.
Now, Chief Kunce faces his own Mayday call—a battle against stage 4 cancer. This is the toughest fight of his life, and he shouldn't have to face it alone.
Throughout his distinguished career, Chief Kunce has been a rock—a steady leader known for his deep knowledge and unwavering commitment to service. He is the kind of firefighter you always want by your side on a tough call, the leader who always had your back. He has been a pillar of the fire service and an inspiration to all who know him.
Doors open at 5:30pm and the optional family-friendly (6-99 years old) workout starts at 6:00pm. Please come by to donate, workout, hang out and support this amazing cause!
