About the Book:

Maxi’s Kitchen features 95 recipes, including 75 brand-new dishes, plus a selection of Maxine’s most cherished family recipes and fan-favorite dishes from her platform. The book is organized by day of the week, with an intention for each day to help readers choose the perfect recipe to match their mood. Early in the week features quick and simple meals, most ready in under 30 minutes. Midweek brings fun handhelds and colorful bowls to keep things fresh, while the week wraps up with indulgent date-night dishes and more immersive cooking projects for when you have extra time. Throughout the book, illustrated “how-to” guides teach skills like making the perfect poached egg or cooking pasta like an Italian. Many dishes draw inspiration from Maxine’s multicultural heritage, with recipes influenced by her mother, father, and grandparents. Recipes include:

  • Monday: Let’s Keep It Simple: Vietnamese Caramel Chicken Thighs; Asian Marinated Skirt Steak; Aunt Susan’s Pan-Seared Fish with Tomatoes and Capers; and Quick and Saucy Korean Silken Tofu
  • Tuesday: Let’s Make It One-Pot, Pan, or Wok: Crustless Supreme Pizza Skillet; Mom’s Skillet Chicken Pot Pie; Grandpa’s Jigae; Creamy White Chicken Chili; and a Build Your Own Stir Fry Guide
  • Wednesday: Let’s Have Some Fun: BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches with Chipotle Slaw; Lemongrass Pork Vermicelli Noodle Bowls; Grandpa’s Giant Baked Italian Sub; and Veggie Ceviche Tostadas
  • Thursday: Let’s Indulge: Lamb Chops with Herb Salsa and Lemon-Garlic Yogurt; Cheesy Four-Cheese White Mac and Cheese; Mom’s Benihana Chicken Fried Rice; and Chicken and Shrimp Crispy Rice Paella
  • Friday: Let’s Come Together: Mom’s Healthy Rice Paper Dumplings; Smoked Trout Dip with Pickled Onion; Potato Samosa Bites with Raita; and Bacon and Parsley Stuffed Mushrooms with Crispy Tops
  • Saturday: Let’s Adventure: Grandma’s Wontons; Handmade Pici Cacio e Pepe; Chinese Hand-Pulled Noodles with Chili Oil and Scallions; and Creamy Lemon Ricotta Stuffed Shells
  • Sunday: Let’s Brunch: Poached Eggs over Rice with Soy-Scallion Butter; Mom’s Fluffy Pancakes; Spicy Shakshuka with Feta and Herbs; and Chai-Spiced French Toast Simple Sides for Every Day of the Week: Buttery Lemon Rice with Herbs; Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Chives; Simple Korean Salad; and The Best Garlic Bread

About Maxine Sharf:

After unexpectedly being laid off from her decade-long career in tech sales in 2022, Maxine used the moment as a catalyst to pursue her passion for cooking full-time. On her platform, Maxine shares approachable recipes, kitchen tips, and viral cooking moments with her mother, Ann Sharf, to help others feel more confident in the kitchen. Her cooking is influenced by her Korean, Chinese, Romanian, Russian, and Polish heritage and her California upbringing. In just a few short years, Maxine has amassed over 4 million followers across her Instagram, Facebook and TikTok pages, with viral videos that caught the attention of celebrities like Mindy Kaling and Jessica Alba. Maxine splits her time between Los Angeles and New York with her husband Doug and their dog, Kimchi.
