Shorties - A Reading Series - March 2026

A roving reading series for any genre, brought in the form of an open mic. A nomadic home for those with a love of prose, poetry, stage, and song.

If you have New Years resolutions to try something new, improve your public speaking, or do more things outside of your place, boy have I got a suggestion for you: improv classes.

But if you'd like to do all of that for free in the most welcoming environment I've ever read in front of, come on down (or up, depending on your geographic location) to Bad Apple Lincoln Park on January 7th for the next edition of Shorties. Seriously. In 2024, we had at least twelve people read their work in front of a crowd for the first time. And they all slayed! We intend to keep the crowd welcoming.

Readers, please arrive at 7 PM or before to signup for a reading slot. Eacher reader will have 5 minutes. If you hit 5 minutes, you'll be played off by harmonica.
