Iron Crow Theatre presents Max Vernon's The View Upstairs , Baltimore's first ever production of this defiant, electric, deeply queer musical.Inspired by the tragic 1973 arson attack on the UpStairs Lounge, a gay bar in New Orleans where 32 queer lives were lost and the world looked away.
The View Upstairs transforms forgotten history into something alive, urgent, and achingly beautiful. This is a story of drag and desire, chosen family and radical love, grief and queer joy. And it is happening right here, right now, during Pride Month in Baltimore.
This is our most immersive production to date.
We're rebuilding the UpStairs Lounge. The bar will be open before the show. The cast will be in the room with you. And you won't know the show has started until it already has.
