Info: Dr. Thema Bryant is a renowned psychologist, author, professor, sacred artist, and minister dedicated to fostering healing, resilience, and empowerment. Her latest book, Matters of the Heart (Penguin Random House, Feb 4, 2025), guides readers in overcoming emotional barriers, addressing control issues, and deepening connections. A Duke-trained clinical psychologist with postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical Center’s Victims of Violence Program, Dr. Thema previously led Princeton’s SHARE Program, combatting sexual violence and discrimination. She is a tenured professor at Pepperdine University, directing the Culture and Trauma Research Lab. An ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, she leads mental health ministry at First A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles. Dr. Thema, former 2023 APA president, also hosts The Homecoming Podcast, offering insights on healing and personal growth.
