Matt Price Tribute - An Evening to Remember

On July 18 we honor and remember our dear friend, cherished songwriter, and pun enthusiast Matt Price.
If you know a Matt Price song, please come and play it. Or if you want to share a story or say a few words about Matt, we would love to hear it. Or just come and listen, talk with people, and celebrate someone we were lucky to know. This evening is about embracing Matt and his legacy, however sad we are to have lost him. (We’ve been feeling bad for months, let's remember the joy now, dammit.)
Most of us knew Matt as that amazing songwriter. And many of us considered him a dear friend. He brightened so many lives with his songs and jokes, his meticulous creativity, his wry presence, and his gentle yet not entirely uncynical nature.
Informally, the event starts at 6 PM with time for visiting and getting settled. The performers and speakers will take the stage beginning at about 6:45. It all happens at the Couth Buzzard in Greenwood where Matt has performed so many times. The Couth owners have generously invited us to start earlier than most events.
If you know for sure you want to play a song or speak at the event, please drop me (Scott Katz) a line. It will really help us manage the time. And if you have some other tribute in mind, please run that by us too. We will also try to accommodate the spontaneous speakers/artists best we can.
It promises to be a sweet, special evening and we really hope you will be part of it.
