Hailing from the heartland of Fairland, Indiana, Matt Mason brings a voice and story as raw, real, and resonant as country music gets. A seasoned singer-songwriter with a career marked by grit, heart, and undeniable talent, Matt has carved out his place in country music through authenticity and perseverance.Matt’s journey began young—picking up a guitar at eleven and opening for the legendary Charlie Daniels by sixteen. After graduating high school in 2004, he wasted no time chasing his dream, heading straight to Nashville and quickly becoming a sought-after session musician and live performer.
America was introduced to Matt through “Nashville Star” in 2006, where he finished fourth. His rise wasn’t without challenges, but his honesty and strength led him through, culminating in a career-defining moment: winning CMT’s “Next Superstar” in 2011. A deal with Warner Records followed, along with the release of his 2012 EP America’s Favorite Pastime.
In 2016, Matt made the bold move to go independent, prioritizing creative freedom and family. After nearly a decade away from the spotlight, he made a powerful return in 2024—with new music, a renewed fire, and a story that continues to inspire fans nationwide.
