Materials Lab Workshop: Portable Personal Altars
Fee: $15, paid at registration (materials will be provided)

An altar is a site for remembrance, devotion, or a meditation on what we want to attract into our life. Assembling objects and images draws attention to what we value and hold important.
Join teaching artist Karen Jackson for a hands-on mixed media workshop in which she will guide you in making your own personal altar. Jackson will introduce the many forms of altars before sharing a variety of media and techniques you can use to enhance your altar’s interior and surface. Participants are invited to bring personal images or objects small enough to fit into a cigar box to incorporate into their creations.
