Masters in Making- Threads of Continuum: Reweaving the Future of Heritage
Masters in Making – Threads of Continuum: Reweaving the Future of Heritage brings together the work of 20 artists selected from over 180 applications received nationwide for the inaugural Burgoyne Original Masters grant. Curated by Sreyansi Singh, the exhibition explores contemporary engagements with India’s rich textile traditions, bringing together practices that draw on weaving, embroidery, craft knowledge, material histories and inherited techniques. Through installations, mixed media and interdisciplinary approaches, the exhibition considers textiles as living repositories of memory, community, cultural knowledge and continuity, while examining how these traditions can evolve through contemporary artistic practice. The exhibition will also mark the culmination of the grant, with five artists from the shortlisted cohort being selected as grant recipients.
