Full workshop programme:

Are you ready to take control of your financial future with confidence and clarity? Join us for an enlightening workshop designed specifically to support the journey of international professionals in the UK. This series of comprehensive sessions cover essential topics like financial management, financial wellbeing, goal-based investment, portfolio construction, and personal asset management. Here’s what you can expect:

Understand and Master the art of Financial Management (workshop 1)
Gain the knowledge and tools to effectively manage your finances. Learn to work with a realistic (guilt-free!) budget, understand your spending patterns, and make informed decisions that align with your financial goals. After this session you will be able to identify what has been preventing you from achieving your financial goals.

Enhance Your Financial Wellbeing (workshop 1)
Discover the keys to achieving financial peace of mind. Still part of the first workshop, this session will help you develop a balanced approach to spending and saving, ensuring your financial wellbeing is always a priority. We will discuss strategies for reducing financial stress, including reflecting about what is important for you and aligning your goals to these plans. You will have the opportunity to learn about your trade-offs, understanding some psychological aspects of money management and how to maximise your present income without forgetting your future needs!

Achieve Your Goals with Goal-Based Investment (workshop 2)
Set yourself up for success by learning how to align your investments with your personal goals. You will have the opportunity to learn about the cycle of money in life, the importance of building an emergency fund and a retirement plan as early as possible and to setup an investment portfolio in line with your plans.

Construct a Long-term Portfolio (workshop 2 and 3)
Understand the different asset classes and how to make use of them in line with your goals. In this session, the principles of building an investment portfolio will be covered, including asset allocation, risk tolerance, and the importance of rebalancing your portfolio. We will also discuss what is (and what is not) diversification and which platforms and instruments you can use self managing your portfolio. You’ll leave with the skills to construct and maintain a portfolio that supports your financial goals in the short, mid and long-term.

Manage Your Personal Assets Wisely (workshop 3)
The final part of this series of workshops will review the principles of personal asset management, including property, investments, and other valuable assets. It will also be explored tax planning, ensuring efficiency for the process of wealth creation, and risk management principles, enabling you to make informed decisions about which instruments are right for you and your family.

By attending our workshop, you will gain the confidence and knowledge to navigate your financial journey with ease, with your needs at the centre of your financial decisions.

Hello!

I am Flavia Villarroel, a chartered financial advisor and planner by the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI).

I see personal finance as a way to help people achieve their goals and improve their lives. I’m passionate about empowering individuals to make financial decisions that align with their values and dreams. I started this project in 2020, supporting people through the tough times of the pandemic, and since then, I’ve helped many others on their path to building wealth.

I got into personal finance after moving to the UK. The challenges I faced in sorting out my finances, understanding savings and investments, and figuring out whom to trust, drove me to dive deep into the technical aspects and grasp personal finance and investments from a professional viewpoint.
