BRD starts with acknowledging that we copy a model, a reference, namely the natural tooth and stomatognathic system. Hence, this module focuses on deep understanding of biomechanics, morphology (tooth by tooth), function (occlusion), and esthetics, as well as wear, aging and biocorrosion. The hands-on portion will focus on tooth morphology through various exercises. The didactic 2D to 3D approach will be taught through hyper-realistic tooth drawing and wax-up while reviewing the 14-point “Esthetic Checklist” for smile integration. This review will be completed by the description the dynamic smile balance and how to deal with visual tensions, as opposed to the static esthetic of the symmetric and so-called “perfect” smile. The integration of the smile within the individual face and personality will be explained using the Dentofacial Digital Diagnostic (DDD) tool. The course will end with posterior tooth morphology tooth-by-tooth and the review of essential concepts of occlusion and temporo-mandibular joint stability. Who should attend: New and experienced dentists and dental technician.
