About this Event

Join AFP Global Chair, Roger D. Ali, for a dynamic and practical session designed to strengthen your approach to major gifts in today’s evolving philanthropic landscape.

Participants will explore the psychology behind major gift giving and learn a clear, step-by-step framework for preparing and confidently executing a successful ask. The session will demystify how and when to leverage Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) as part of a strategic major gifts approach, and examine real-world examples to understand what makes solicitations effective.

Designed for fundraisers across career stages and organizational sizes, this session emphasizes donor-centered conversations, collaboration with volunteers, and practical tools that can be applied even in low-resource environments.

Attendees will leave with actionable strategies, increased confidence, and a personalized action plan to advance their major gifts efforts immediately.
