Intermediate and advanced guitarists, this one is for you!A workshop designed to help transition from knowing chord shapes to achieving fretboard fluency. Practical and applicable to your playing, composition and arrangement work.
Bring your instrument. We will have individual 10 minute sessions of practice with the teacher.
The capacity is limited. Registration is $20. This is a community, public program and all the money goes to the teacher.
We will meet at 7 pm, at 2112, and then head together to the Chicago Recording Company, on the other side of the building.
About the teacher: David started his career as a classical musician, and cultivated exceptional versatility. Few guitarists can claim equal mastery over the rigorous technique of classical Baroque music and the fluid improvisation of modern jazz. He has contributed to three Grammy-nominated albums with jazz vocalist Kurt Elling and has recorded with icons such as Mavis Staples, Pharoah Sanders, and Mike Stern. His 1993 album Loose Contact (with drummer Mark Walker) earned a prestigious four-star review from Downbeat Magazine, a testament to his skills as both a performer and a composer.
