Masterclass: Introduction to Drone Photography

We have invited six artists to each lead one Masterclass session each that will introduce key pieces of equipment that will be available to borrow from the new St Helens Arts in Libraries Equipment Library this year.

This session offers an accessible introduction to the world of aerial photography and how to prepare for it using a lightweight drone. You’ll learn how to plan and capture professional‑looking photos and videos from above with confidence. We’ll be working with a DJI Mini drone to demonstrate the core techniques in a safe and practical way.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Abdullrhman Hassona is a visual artist and educator specialising in photography and film. He applies a diverse range of creative tools and production methods in his work, including the use of aerial photography. He is the creator of ‘Waiting Rooms’, shown at The World of Glass and Street and a Half in 2025 for which he is a finalist in the LCR Culture Awards Artist of the Year.
