Master the Game: Framework Over Guesswork
About this Event
You're in a scene and you don't know where it's going or what to do. This workshop is about fixing that. In two hours you'll learn a simple framework for knowing exactly what your scene is about, endless moves to make, and how to build something you actually want to stay in. We'll explore how this approach generates scenes that are funny by design, not by accident, and we'll spend most of our time on stage with real-time coaching so you get the reps. Participants should have some improv experience, which is equivalent to two levels of classes.

About the Instructor - Josh Kriolv
Joshua Krilov is a seasoned comedy writer and performer who has written for television and appeared on improv stages across the country. He began performing improv in 2007 and teaching in 2009, first in Austin—where he served as Artistic Director of ColdTowne Theater—and later in Los Angeles, where he performed on improv and sketch teams at both UCB and iO West. He also trained at iO and the Annoyance Theater in Chicago.
As a TV writer, Joshua has worked in multiple Disney writers’ rooms, contributing jokes and pitches to over 100 episodes of scripted television. He also co-wrote and co-directed two short films that were official selections at South by Southwest, bridging his love of live comedy and scripted storytelling.
He’s also a certified life coach, challenge course instructor, and once coached an Oscar-winning actress in a couples workshop. Now based in New Orleans, Joshua continues performing, teaching, and trying to keep his daughters from drawing on the walls.
