Participating in tournaments is a great opportunity to challenge yourself and test your skills against those of other students from your school, city, region, country or even from around the world.
Tournaments offer an opportunity to participate in a variety of events:
Traditional Forms
Sparring
One-step
Traditional Weapons
Combat Weapon Sparring
Creative Forms
Creative Weapons And many more!
You may choose to participate in any combination of events - PLEASE ONE
REGISTRATION PER COMPETITOR FOR ALL EVENTS IN WHICH SHE/HE WISHES TO PARTICIPATE - OR CONTACT US FOR REGISTRATION:
• Forms/Sparring $50 (the pricing is for both events if you choose to participate - it does not discount if you choose only one)
• Single event $40 - choose from traditional weapons or combat weapons. Only choose this option if you are NOT competing in FORMS, SPARRING, OR ONE-STEPS. This event will become your first event.
• Add-on event $20 - choose from creative weapons and/or creative forms, XMA
form and/or XMA weapons ONLY if also doing the traditional event. If participating in forms/sparring, you may also add-on traditional weapons and/or combat weapons.
You may participate in the Recreational or Champion Division. The Champion Division allows those enrolled in the Leadership Program to accumulate points throughout the year and potentially qualify to compete for World Champion!
There are tournaments all over the United States and around the world almost every weekend. Going on vacation to California or Australia? Fit in some competition time. Brazil, or Portugal? There are tournaments there too! Visit ATA to see a list of all sanctioned tournaments around the world.
There are many different types of tournaments:
Class AAA - There is only one AAA tournament each year hosted by the presiding Grand Master of Songahm Taekwondo and the ATA
International Headquarters in Little Rock, AR.
It is typically called the Songahm Taekwondo World Championships and usually has competitors from all over the world from the
ATA, STF, and WTTU. Due to the size of these events, the potential for more competitors.
